![]() Internet Access alternatives depends on your location. Carriers have built in to many locations Fiber Optic Circuits that allow you to speeds to 1 Gig per second. DSL is a cheap alternatives for small offices with most Companies using a
T1 ( 1.544 meg) due the flexibility of using them for internet and/or voice Services. T1 Circuits are run via copper lines and traditionally have been very dependable and affordable. DS3 ( 45 Megs) is the other alternative using Copper technology, but due to the expense of the last mile Local Loop DS3s have been very popular. The location(s) of your offices depends on what services are available. Many buildings have built in Fiber Optic services or Ethernet access ( 10,20,30,40,50,100 megs) connections. The offices that do not currently have Fiber Services may still install Fiber Optic based services with a build-out from the manhole.
